It is with humbled heart and bended knee that we offer up an explanation of our reporting on the Hand Crank P1 in light of Mr. Fred Johnson's letter to us. Sigh.
Mr. Johnson's letter was an instance of April Fools Day coming early. Someone decided to have some sport and dummied the letter up as well as "Mr. Fred Johnson." Care to be how many people will only read "Fred Johnson's" letter to us and go no farther? That it will start the speculation all anew and even people will start reporting sightings of the Hand Crank P1? Wait and watch.
For what it's worth, the date 29 Feb 99 should have been a tip off from the start.
